    Under the patronage of the Prince of the Eastern Region, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, the Women’s Economic Forum 2022 will be launched on Wednesday, November 16, through the platform (zoom), organized by the Asharqia Chamber in its seventh edition to achieve a more effective performance for women in light of the implementation of the vision of 2030, by highlighting the challenges facing the development of the economic role of women in the Kingdom in general and the eastern region in particular, and examining the opportunities and possibilities available for female investors and businesswomen to contribute to the development process in the region, as well as introducing the mechanisms, forms and various fields of this development.

    The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Asharqia Chamber, Badr bin Suleiman Al-Raziza, said that the forum of the year, unlike the previous six forums, which was set up by the Asharqia Chamber, comes in light of the qualitative leaps that Saudi women have achieved in terms of their economic participation, which came as a reflection of the reform efforts made by Vision 2030. This makes the forum different as it targets women’s performance to reach more effective participation for them in the country’s development process, pointing out that this new edition will witness wide participation of a large group of officials and officials in the public and private sectors and those interested in economic affairs in general and the women’s business sector in particular, and discusses a number of It is a topic related to the challenges facing women in economic affairs, and he tries to reveal to them all the ways to increase their investment contributions to the national economy.

    Al-Raziza pointed out that the Chamber has extended its efforts to support and develop the business community and advance the role of women in it, based on its keenness on the women’s business sector, not only in the region but throughout the Kingdom, as they are essential resources in bringing about development and advancing economic growth.

    Al-Raziza stated that the forum bears the slogan (Change Industry) and tries to shed light on four main axes, the first of which is to address the concept of change and how women can be part of the changing industry in light of the openness of the national economy towards diversification and exploitation of opportunities, while the second axis focuses, Empowering women in family businesses and ways to enhance their roles in decision-making within their companies, and what they can do to ensure the sustainability of their companies, especially with their increased involvement in the labor market in general and leadership positions in particular, The third axis, according to Al-Raziza, comes to identify the various opportunities in the various economic sectors in addition to the current role of women in sectors such as energy, industry and technology, while the latter reviews the role of women in environmental, social practices and corporate governance, stressing that the efforts made in the Kingdom to empower women at all levels. Its fruits are now bearing fruit by increasing the rate of its economic participation, whether it is a worker or a businesswoman.
